Great ale and great company

A traditional English pub with a warm welcome

The Spinners Arms in Cummersdale is a family owned and run pub with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You will find us in the village of Cummersdale, on the outskirts of Carlisle, Cumbria. The Spinners Arms is a family and dog friendly community local.

Part of the Carlisle State Management Story

The Spinners Arms is a fine example of a Carlisle State Management Scheme pub, designed by Harry Redfern and built in 1930. It's a Grade II listed building with many original features, including open fires, tiled fireplaces, wood panelling and unusual decorative guttering. To find out more about the State Management Story, take a look at our Heritage page.

We've been listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide every year since 2008 and have been awarded Solway CAMRA Pub of the Season three times.

We launched our micro-brewery in 2013

Since 2013 we've been making our own range of British style traditional ales. We’re really happy with the beers we’ve produced already and we’ve had good feedback from our customers – they keep coming back for more it so we know we’re getting it right!

Come and see us and try some of our beer!

You can find us at The Spinners Arms, Cummersdale, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA2 6BD.
